Of all the experiments in pattern I have done, these are my favorites so far. Folding and tying and dyeing can produce vastly different results. The piece on the right was silk yardage, while the piece on the left is just a small panel, maybe 12"x 12"
It delights me to be able to take some time and design things without patterns or time constraints. This baby quilt was designed and made for a friend who is expecting a baby girl. Cherubs and roses; fabrics of the Gods!
This year has been an unusually active one for our planet. This image was taken by a friend of a friend, who used a lens filter in her I Phone to take this spectacular shot of the solar eclipse this summer. As the total eclipse passed over us and the atmosphere cooled, birds reportedly got very quiet and huddled in trees near house porch light where possible (in Beaverton, Oregon).
