Google It and The Shibori Vortex

You can find out just about anything on the internet these days. I suggest to anyone out there that wants to do some Shibori, to take some time and do some research on what information is out there that can be of some help to you. That is what I did, and I felt it was time well spent. Who, what, when, where, why, as well as how-to can all be answered online. There are a multitude of video clips on utube as well. The trick is, sometimes there is conflicting information and that will just have to be sorted out by yourself by trial and error in the case of dyeing your fabric, and the auxiliaries that are used in the process. My objective is to keep simplifying and integrating the information until a very smooth and easy process can be synthesized from it all and made available to others of you that might be able to use that kind of help.

In looking over my copious notes on dyeing, it seemed like a nightmare to figure out what the right thing to do was. Different dyes require differences in processing. One thing I finally came to realize is that the process is very forgiving, and with the use of thiox, you can remove color and dye the fabric again. The big drawback of thiox is that the odor and noxious fumes require a good respirator be worn when using it. On the other hand, the colors of my current most favorite scarf were a complete accident and I really thought I had ruined it.
